British Columbia is one of the most popular destinations for immigrants in Canada. It has the mildest weather of all the provinces and territories there, is home to 3 different UNESCO World Heritage Sites, 6 national parks, and 400 provincial parks. British Columbia is also a place for immense career and educational growth, being near to many major cities like Seattle, Los Angeles, and San Fransisco. This post will further talk regarding the British Columbia PNP.

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) gives aspiring permanent residents in Canada a chance to get it. At Binary Immigration, our efficient team led by the qualified and knowledgeable Jagdeep Singh aims to put you through whichever stream you prefer to apply through. We analyze your eligibility, give you suggestions based on our analysis, and help complete the process of whatever you want to do in Canada, be it applying for a student visa, or going there by Express Entry.

Here we’ll be discussing the eligibility criteria and different pathways to apply through British Columbia PNP.

Eligibility Criteria for International Graduates

  1. You must have an Express Entry Profile, giving you an Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code. This will help you find out if you have 67 points in the selection factor point grid.
    1. There are 6 selection factors that you can find on the official website Canada.ca, and if you score more than 67 points you can qualify for the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) program.
    2. The selection factors are language skills, education, work experience, age, arranged employment in Canada, and adaptability.
  2. You must have graduated from a designated graduate school in Canada within the last 3 years before you apply for a nomination. This is to ensure that you’re qualified for your occupation in British Columbia.
  3. Your salary must meet the mark for the wage rates in British Columbia, and you must also meet the minimum income requirements.
  4. You must have legal immigration status in Canada to be able to support yourself and any dependents you may have.
  5. You have to provide an IELTS score that meets the minimum English proficiency requirements.
  6. You must show proof of a full-time job offer from a designated employer in British Columbia.

Eligibility Criteria for Skilled Workers

  1. You don’t need to graduate from a Canadian university.
  2. You must have 2 years of full-time work experience at the job you’ve been offered in Canada. These jobs are: Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Registered Psychiatric Nurse, Physician, Specialist, Physiotherapist, Clinical Pharmacist, Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, Medical Laboratory Technologist, Medical Radiation Technologist, and Occupational Therapist.

Step by Step Process for BCPNP

  1. Make a profile online for BC PNP and submit your registration. This step is called EOI, or Expression of Interest because you’re expressing your interest in that province.
  2. In order to register, you will have to visit the site:https://www.pnpapplication.gov.bc.ca.
  3. Complete the online application form by filling in your details for registrant information, education, work experience, and language skills (IELTS score).
  4. Finally, you will have to declare that all the information you have given is truthful and accurate by typing in your full name at the end of a page.
  5. Once you complete the registration you will get a SIRS score based on various factors, like economic factors and human capital factors.
  6. You will then receive an invitation to apply for BC PNP by the province if you’re eligible. Healthcare professionals don’t need to wait for an invitation to apply (ITA) and can apply directly through BC PNP online.
  7. Submit your application to British Columbia within 30 days of getting the invitation to apply.
  8. Once you get the ITA, your case status on the dashboard of your profile will say “invited”, on the lower right part of which page you will find a continue button. Click on that button to continue your application to British Columbia.

Canada is looking to increase its number of immigrants by one million by the year 2022. This figure has been increasing for the past 3 years by significant amounts, at 330 800 new immigrants in 2019, 341 000 in 2020, and 350 000 in 2021. These statistics might help assure some prospective immigrants of their plans to immigrate. This post will further inform you about various immigration types and also How to Choose the Right Immigration Consultant Surrey.

Migrating to a new country can seem like a daunting task, even if it’s a nation as welcoming as Canada. The new people, new food, and new customs may all take a while to adjust to but finding a pathway suited to you by which to immigrate might make the process a bit smoother.

Therefore, compiled here is a list of 8 different types of immigration to Canada with the help of Licensed Immigration Consultants Surrey.

Family Class Category

If you are married to a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident who is at least 18 years of age, you can migrate to Canada with a spousal visa. There are, however, certain conditions you’ll need to meet to be eligible for this visa:

  1. You and your spouse must have lived together for 12 months straight.
  2. Provide proof that you two have set up a household together.

International Student

Apply to a university in Canada. The university needs to be a Designated Learning Institution (DLI). Once you have been accepted to the university, you can apply for a study permit and study in Canada for 2 years which will make you eligible for a 3-year postgraduate work permit. You can then earn a one-year work experience in Canada, after which you can apply for permanent residence there.

Express Entry

This is one of the simplest ways to immigrate to Canada. The very first step for you to take with this method is to compute your CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) score. If you consult an express entry consultant Surrey, they can help you navigate this process more easily. The tool that calculates your score can be found on the official website of the government of Canada, cic.gc.ca. You’ll be asked a set of questions, and based on your answers, your total CRS score will be calculated. Once your score is given, you’ll have to check what the current cut-off score is for immigrants, and if your score is higher than the minimum, you’ll get an invitation to apply, which is followed by a set of steps forming express entry.

Provincial Nominee Program

If your CRS score doesn’t meet the threshold, you can always apply for the Provincial Nominee Program or the PNP. This process requires you to get a nomination letter from the province or territory you wish to immigrate to, which will give you an additional 600 points, helping boost your CRS score. To get nominated by a province, you need to apply directly to it on another Canadian government site, Canada.ca.

Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP) or  Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot Program (RNIP)

If your required CRS score still isn’t met by following the above options, you can apply through AIPP or RNIP. In these programs, all you need to do is to find a designated employer in Canada who will employ you.

Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP)

This is another method to opt for if your CRS score does not hold up. Instead of the CRS scores used for Express Entry, QSWP employs selection grid points. Similar to Express Entry, you’ll have to get a certain point to be able to immigrate. This program accepted up to 44, 500 new permanent residents in 2020, and this number is bound to increase over the years.

Business Immigration

This program can be divided into two different teams: self-employed person and start-up visa program. Both these can be found on the official website mentioned earlier: www.ircc.canada.ca/.

You’ll need to find your eligibility for both these programs. To be eligible as a self-employed person, you must have proof of having two years of relevant experience and show that you are full of the intention to become self-employed in Canada. If you seek guidance, a Top Immigration Consultant Surrey can help clarify the requirements for you. You’ll also need to score a minimum of 35 points on a selection grid you can find on the site. This point determines how much you can contribute economically to Canada. These points are determined based on your education, experience, age, English and/or French fluency, and adaptability.

As for the start-up visa program, you need to have a qualifying business, a letter of support from an authorized organization, meet the language requirements of Canada and have sufficient money to settle down in Canada before you start making money from your business.
